Dendro Supply Co. is a proud distributor of drywood corers for dendroarchaeology
Drywood Corers / Dendroarch Borers
There are a few names for coring bits used in dendroarchaeology: drywood corers, drywood borers, coring bits, dendroarch borers, etc. These corers all serve the noble purpose of coring dry wood for tree-ring dating. Common applications include historic cabins/houses/huts/castles/cathedrals, historic shipwrecks, recovered wood from excavations, wood frames/panels from paintings, and other wooden artifacts and structures.

Drywood corers come in different diameters, lengths, and finishes. Some work best in softer woods, some in harder woods. Some are easier at starting, and some are more efficient and require less effort and cleaning out as you drill. In short, there are advantages and disadvantages to nearly all things, including coring tools.

All borers sold & distributed by Dendro Supply Co. are to be used with a power drill, and intended to be used as directed by the maker. Please refer to the makers' instructions via links provided in the respective product descriptions.
